Having wasted $535 million on Solyndra, The Won decides to throw another billion down the same rat hole.

How much more damage will this lunatic do before we finally fire him?

What boggles my mind is that he keeps making disastrous policy choices, and yet remains completely self-assured.

UPDATE: The waste, explained. I wonder when we'll next hear Nancy Pelosi utter the words "culture of corruption"?

Actually, I think this is an indication the Democrats expext to lose massively next November, so they're sucking as much out of the trough before they go. Which, well, how's that "Hope and Change" thing coming along?

Tom Lantos remembered.

Money quote:
After the war, Lantos was awarded an academic scholarship to study in the United States on the basis of an essay he wrote about then-president Franklin Delano Roosevelt. In August 1947, he arrived in New York City after a boat trip on a converted World War II troop ship. Onboard "there was a big basket of oranges and one of bananas," Lantos recalled. "I wanted to do the right thing, so I asked this sailor, 'Should I take an orange or a banana?' And he said, 'Man, you eat all the goddamn oranges and all the goddamn bananas you want.' Then I knew I was in paradise."
I heard him say this, on a CSPAN interview, I think.

God, how I love this country! Even its worst critics prefer to stay.

Do we really want electric cars? Again?

The Won's jobs plan:

"Give me $450 billion now, or your kids will get mercury poisoning."

That wasn't a jobs plan, that was a campaign speech. Actually, it was a threat:

"Give me everything I want, or I'll blame you for everything I've screwed up."

There's nothing actionable in that speech, and he's presented no bill with legislative language. It's a hostage note, plain and simple, to be paid NOW!, since his latest vacation is over, and the next one is coming up soon.

Note that The Won has scheduled two speeches to encourage public support for this billspeech, in Virginia and Ohio. These are designed to put pressure on Cantor and Boehner.

This is all part of The Won's scorched-earth re-election campaign, the goal of which is to get re-elected, not on the basis of anything he's done, but on the basis of demonizing everyone and everything that stands in his way.

The rhetoric is going to get vicious in the next few months.

This is going to be a very nasty election season.

The President has nothing to run on, having bankrupted the country and run business into the ground. So, he's going to go nasty. He's going to tar the Tea Party as racist. He's going to tar his Republican opponent as racist. He's going to reach deep in to the mud to do everything he can to destroy the reputation of anyone who opposes him. Any businessman who supports a Republican will be run out of business by the Feds, and likely jailed as well. We elected an Alinskyite to office and he'll do everything he can to stay there.

Mark it. The Jackbooted Fascist Won is on the march.

UPDATE: A member of the press agrees.

More commentary on The Won's massive fail. Money quote:
President Obama is going to address Congress and the country on Sept. 8 to announce—for the fourth time, or is it the sixth or seventh, I’ve lost count—that he has a plan to create jobs and grow the economy. Based on his past, and repeated, performances, there is no reason to believe a word he says.

Not that he will be lying—I think he actually believes what he’s doing will help the economy. But the man who never created a private sector job or signed a paycheck before becoming president—except for his campaigns—doesn’t have a clue about what it takes to live by a budget and meet a private sector payroll. And it is becoming increasingly apparent that one person will have to be fired before the rest of the country can be hired.
"One person will have to be fired beforethe rest of the country can be hired." Exactly.

Obama lied, the economy died!

Worst President evah!
