In the first test of its policy of criminalizing the Global War on TerrorOverseas Contingency Operations, The Won and his DoJ obtain a conviction that amounts to one month in jail per murder.
At this point, the only real options The Won has with regard to Ghailani is to let him go, or have him shot "while attempting to escape."
One hopes The Won will learn from this. Chances of that are slim, as The Won is a Democrat and therefore immune to things like common sense, evidence, reality, etc.
2012 cannot come soon enough.
