You guys seem to love when someone pronounces the words "national security"... Ooooh, it sounds so important, so trascendental...

If USA stopped squandering world resources, there would be less poor people all the world, and so no one would need to leave home to go work as a half-slave in a "civilized" country, and there would be no need for a fence.

Any ressemblance to a wall built in Germany after WWII is just a coincidence. Remember that USA is a "protector of the freedom and democracy"
 

You might want to ask yourself what it is about Mexican society that keeps most people in poverty.

Among other things, I see border security as a way to catalyze change in Mexico. After all, if Mexico can't export its poor, it might deal with some of its issues.

It's well understood that strong fences make good neighbours.
