A quick report on recent voting in Venezuela.
You know, the country run by Jimmy Carter's current favorite dictator.
Reading Publius Pundit, you might get the impression that Hugo Chavez is a little less than popular. Given that, you just have to love this quote from the Guardian:
"Recent polls suggest Chavez has about 70-percent popularity, but it was unclear whether that would translate into a resounding victory for pro-Chavez politicians."
Clue for the clueless: the absence of a resounding victory may indicate the popularity numbers are a bit, oh, skewed.
You know, when you contrast Jimmy's comments on Chavez with his comments on President Bush, you really get to understand what a total political pimp he is. This is the man who gave Khomeini his start. Not satisfied with that, he's spent his life since advancing the cause of every vicious, America-hating thug he could drag in front of a video camera. Fidel? A great guy, according to Jimmy. Kim Jong Il? Give him nukes, according to Jimmy.
I continue to be ashamed that the Carter Center is a couple of miles from my house.
